A prominent healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking an HCA Supervisor to ensure clients receive evidence-based care. You will coordinate care, supervise HCAs, and demonstrate leadership in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of leadership experience and strong organizational skills. This role includes a range of shifts and offers a competitive salary based on experience.
The HCA Supervisor ensures clients receive evidence-based care from competent HCAs and that care is planned and delivered consistently according to the AHS policies, procedures and Continuing Care Health Services Standards. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, the HCA Supervisor has 4 key responsibilities: Staff supervision, mentorship and leadership; Client care coordination; Health Care Aid (HCA) education and competency tracking; Stakeholder relationship and community partnership. The HCA Supervisor must demonstrate their ability to: implement and review practice standards, scheduling, clinical support and evaluation of staff; demonstrate skills in problem solving, mentoring, interpersonal relationships, and organizational leadership; implement changes in structure, processes, and procedures to achieve client outcomes and resource utilization; organize and support services to Home Care clients; work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to time commitments and make decisions in a timely manner; safeguard AHS information as private and confidential. Cultural alignment: travel across the Edmonton Zone will be required.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Minimum 2 years leadership experience required. Experience, Skills and Competencies: Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task. Effective time-management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Able to problem solve effectively and in a timely manner when dealing with challenging and/or confrontational situations. Relevant Home Living orientation courses for Nurses. McMaster Case Management Training.
Previous experience working in a home care and/or community care environment. Computer literacy and experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Meditech training.
