H 2 O is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee various projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual with excellent leadership and communication skills.

The Water and Wastewater Certified minimum Level 3 Operator/Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing of work and teams in Central Interior BC (Wells) . The candidate will be required to ensuring that commitments and request from the client are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The Day-to-Day

Reporting to the Operations Lead and Project Manager, the Water & Wastewater Plant Operator will be responsible for:

  • Consistently offering professional, engaging and friendly service;
  • Develop and implement project plans, goals, deliverables, timeliness and resources required.
  • Co-ordinate and conduct meetings with the team, clients and contractors to ensure alignment and continual productivity.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and develop/implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses and provide financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment to maximize productivity and innovation.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Ensure that Maintenance and Operation of the treatment plants is executed according to related Government standards;
  • Conduct regular inspections of the collection and distribution systems as well as the plants;
  • Maintain all related readings and documentation;
  • Provide reports to government agencies, departments, and other organizations as required;
  • Co-ordinating, training and mentoring of staff
  • Vacation relief as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Attributes Desired
  • A minimum of Level 3 in Water & Wastewater Treatment disciplines required
  • Experience operating and maintaining Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and related equipment required;
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate a dedication to the position and to public services;
  • Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Word, and Excel; (CMMS programs)
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License required;
  • Must be able to perform on-call services or operational support for emergency/short staffing conditions;
  • Excellent and professional oral and written communication skills;
Physical Aspects of Position
  • Walking & Standing: 4-8 hr/day;
  • Bending & Reaching: 4-8 hr/day;
  • Pushing & pulling: 4-8 hr/day;
  • Driving 4-6 hr/day;
  • Physical Effort: does not lift weights more than 50 lbs;
  • Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in often in harsh weather conditions.
