Legal Assistant Family Law (Calgary AB)

REAL-R is looking for a Legal Assistant supporting a reputable small family law firm in Calgary. We are seeking a dedicated professional with 1 to 3 years experience in family law to provide compassionate detail‑oriented assistance to our clients and lawyers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and format legal correspondence, disclosure packages, affidavits and court forms
  • Manage file organization deadlines and document tracking
  • Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients, courts and counsel
  • Schedule meetings, court dates, mediations and client appointments
  • Assist with billing, file management and general office administration
  • Proofread documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality and a respectful workplace at all times
Required Skills and Experience
  • 13 years experience as a Legal Assistant in family law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism and discretion
  • Proven ability to manage stressful situations and support clients in distress
  • Time management and multi‑tasking skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
  • Reliable and willing to learn new skills in a fast‑paced environment
