Aplin is partnering with a sole practitioner to hire a part-time Legal Assistant. Based west of Edmonton near Spruce Grove and Stony Plain, this role offers a unique and peaceful work setting away from the bustle of the city.

In this position, you’ll provide reliable support in residential real estate while also gaining exposure to other practice areas, creating strong potential for growth. As the practice expands, this role could develop into a full-time position for the right individual.

We’re seeking someone proactive, competent, and confident in taking ownership of files independently, enabling the lawyer to focus on broader priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages approximately 20 residential real estate files per month, including purchases, sales, and refinances. Provides support with separation agreements and motor vehicle matters, and assists with probate and surrogate files, including online data entry.
  • Take ownership of files, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed accurately.
  • Adapt to a flexible schedule and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant, preferably in real estate or related areas.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes; training will be provided as needed.
  • Intelligent, proactive, and confident in managing responsibilities with minimal oversight.
Work Schedule
  • Initially three days per week, with the potential to increase to four or five days as workload grows.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate occasional changes in office hours.
