The Lead, Risk Management & Compliance is responsible for supporting MHNL's Patient Safety and Patient Experience initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, Risk Management, Privacy & Compliance, this role's key objectives are to foster a culture of patient‑centred care and to strengthen the organization's focus on patient safety, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
The incumbent is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating patient safety risks; leading incident management and analysis; conducting quality reviews and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA); and supporting patient and family relations from a risk and safety perspective. This role oversees and coordinates service inquiries across the organization, ensuring concerns are managed in a timely, consistent, and transparent manner, with appropriate escalation, investigation, and follow‑up. The incumbent remains current with emerging industry trends, legislation, and research related to patient safety, risk management, and compliance.
This position leads the Patient and Family Partnership Council and serves as the organization's subject‑matter expert for patient experience, engagement, and safety‑related risk. The incumbent collaborates with operational, clinical, and corporate teams to educate and support front‑line staff on patient safety principles, risk management practices, service inquiry management, and patient experience expectations.
