A local council authority is seeking a Lead Lifeguard for Albany Stadium Pool to ensure a safe environment for all users. The role involves providing guidance for aquatics programs, general lifeguarding duties, and assisting with daily operations. Candidates must be strong swimmers, hold a Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate (PLPC) or pass a swim test, and complete First Aid training. This part-time position offers flexible hours and various benefits including free access to facilities.
Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever, and as Lead Lifeguard, for our Albany Stadium Pool, you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one.
This is a permanent part-time, 20-hour position, which involves 16 hours of lifeguarding and 4 hours of administrative tasks. As our centre opens 7 days a week, the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial in this role. Shifts below:

You’ll have a passion for aquatics and enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety. You will be an excellent communicator and committed to delivering exceptional aquatic programmes and providing a high level of customer satisfaction.

We are looking for people who are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others. To work as a pool, lead lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC).
The first step in becoming a lifeguard for Auckland Council is to be able to pass this swim test. Please only apply for this position if you feel you can:
Please note that a swim test is not required if you hold an active and valid PLPC. Also, you must also be willing to complete First Aid training.
