Primary Purpose

To become a member of the Expert Bill Review team and work with insurance defense attorneys, lawyers and legal spend industry executives who have deep domain experience in a supportive and success-driven environment. The Lawyer Auditor leverages legal expertise to apply customer tailored billing guidelines and align each review with the customer’s goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience in Canadian litigation.
  • Apply and evaluate uniquely tailored legal spend management protocols.
  • Consult with customers to design and / or enhance legal spend management guidelines and strategies.
  • Effectively communicate with law firms to discuss billing compliance inquiries and nuances of legal billing requirements.
  • Manage legal invoice volume and workflow in accordance with customized customer standards.
  • Use the proprietary Legal Spend Management platforms to implement and manage complex workflows, invoice routing, and customer requirements for data collection.
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing value that is mission critical to our partners’ success.

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

  • Bachelor’s degree in law from an accredited university (LL. B)
  • Licensed lawyer preferred but non practicing status accepted.

Experience

  • Five (5) years of related experience in insurance defense litigation, insurance claims, litigation or legal spend management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bilingual French / English strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance, claims or business management
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products and Excel, PowerPoint
  • Analytical and interpretive skills

Le rôle principal de l’avocat(e) vérificateur / trice est d’appliquer les lignes directrices en matière de facturation, personnalisées à chaque client, et d’aligner chaque vérification avec les buts et les objectifs du client.

PRINCIPALES FONCTIONS et RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Compréhension et expérience approfondies en litiges au Canada.
  • Appliquer et évaluer des protocoles de gestion des dépenses juridiques.
  • Discuter avec les clients pour développer et / ou améliorer les directives et les stratégies de gestion des dépenses juridiques.
  • Communiquer efficacement avec les cabinets d'avocats pour discuter des questions de conformité et des nuances applicables en matière d’exigences liées à la facturation.
  • Gérer le volume de factures juridiques et le flux de travail conformément aux normes personnalisées du client.
  • Utiliser les plateformes exclusives de gestion des dépenses juridiques pour mettre en œuvre et gérer des flux de travail complexes, l'acheminement des factures et les exigences des clients en matière de collecte de données.
  • Établir des relations solides avec les clients en apportant une valeur ajoutée essentielle à la réussite de nos partenaires.
