PART – TIME LAUNDRY AIDE - Extendicare London

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team, you will provide a clean and safe environment to residents as well as staff in accordance with policies, procedures and work routines.

Available opportunities: Day shift

What you’ll be doing

• Processing all house linens, washing, drying and placing linen on carts for delivery to units
• Processing of residents personal laundry including washing and drying
• Continue processing other linens during shift such as isolation, dietary and housekeeping linens as necessary
• Cleaning of laundry equipment – i.e. removal of lint from dryers
• Labelling of residents personal clothing
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety etc.
• Participates in staff meetings as assigned, attends in service education programs and completes all mandatory education as assigned.
• Collaborates with other departments in such tasks as ensuring residents clothing items are delivered to correct room, assisting in locating miss placed items

What you bring

• Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (non-slip soles and enclosed) as you will be handling considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening to be provided.
