A regional healthcare provider in St. Albert is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant I. The ideal candidate will have a completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program, previous phlebotomy experience, and ECG certification. Responsibilities include providing high-quality service to clients and performing various laboratory functions in a clinical setting. You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team, you can develop and maintain positive working relationships with your colleagues and other healthcare professionals you may interact with. You have good judgement and decision-making skills and will conduct yourself according to the Alberta Health Services Code of Conduct and the APL Values of Kindness, Inclusion, Innovation, Agility, and Accuracy. This position is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 0800-1230 and on Tuesdays 0800-1300, with every 3rd weekend working Saturday and Sunday 0700-1130 at Summit Plaza PSC (STAB).

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification.
At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. ECG experience.
