A health care facility in Edmonton is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to deliver high-quality laboratory services. You will be responsible for the management of specimens, including processing and reporting results. The role demands completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program and recent phlebotomy training. This is a full-time temporary position with a diverse shift schedule and a competitive salary range.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Recent phlebotomy training or equivalent work experience required. Recent formal urinalysis training course or equivalent work experience required.
Competency with the EPIC Information System. Recent experience with capillary / microcollection procedures. Recent experience at an acute care site.
