Qualifications

Overview

Securiguard is Canada's premier K9 Security Company, and we are looking for the best and brightest to join our growing K9 team. If you have the experience and / or passion to work with canines, we want to speak with you about joining our team. K9 handlers provide Detection / Protection / Patrol services to our clients across Canada. Our K9 teams are government certified and licensed in Protection and Explosive or Narcotics Detection. Our advanced teams train with Canadian and U.S. Law Enforcement. Our teams work in high profile sites including Ports, Airports, Arenas, Industrial Sites and Remote Locations.

Responsibilities
  • Support K9 Protection and Explosive / Narcotic Detection following established procedures.
  • Maintain flexibility for schedule changes and open availability.
  • Liaise with Governmental agencies, such as Transport Canada.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Attend mandatory K9 maintenance training.
  • Document and ensure thorough canine training.
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols, including parking lots, stairwells, and common areas.
  • Assist Site Operations manager in responding to calls and coordinating with Police and Emergency Services Providers.
  • Provide detailed reports, including occurrence, incident, and patrol reports.
What You Bring
  • Valid provincial Security Guard License maintained.
  • 2+ years of security experience, with preference for Police, Law Enforcement, or Security K9 background OR strong customer service background.
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Willingness to travel for training / testing.
  • Commitment to a 2 month paid K9 training program.
  • Class 5 driver's license with an annual clean abstract.
  • Open availability and physical fitness for 12-hour patrols, carrying 50 lbs, and stairs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Capability to care for K9 after hours, ensuring a suitable home.
  • Access to a suitable vehicle for K9 transportation in an approved crate.
  • Experience with difficult individuals.
  • Customer service and solutions focused.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
