An established engineering consultancy is looking for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer in Southwestern Ontario. This role offers excellent hands-on experience in mechanical design, including support for the development of building services systems and producing CAD drawings. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and be proficient in AutoCAD, with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of mechanical services systems.
  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
  • Assist in preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and problem-solving.
  • Liaise with teams, suppliers, and contractors for design compliance.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of mechanical services systems.
  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, specifications, and reports
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering problem-solving
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility and compliance
