About Us

Delta Christian School (DCS) is a Christ‑centred, community‑focused school serving families from K through grade 7.

In September 2026, we are launching a full‑day Junior Kindergarten (pre‑school 4) program that reflects best practices in Early Childhood Education (ECE) while being rooted in a Christian worldview.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate ECE‑certified Manager & Teacher to work with the Admin Team in developing, launching, and leading this exciting new program.

The Opportunity

The Junior Kindergarten Manager & Teacher will:

  • Lead the establishment and launch of the full‑day program.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, play‑based, Christ‑centred learning environment.
  • Teach and guide students in their spiritual, social‑emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
  • Recruit, support, and mentor preschool staff.
  • Ensure compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulation.
  • Partner with families and foster a strong school community.
  • Maintain and work within the program’s budget.

This role combines classroom teaching with program leadership, offering the opportunity to build a new program from the ground up.

Qualifications
  • BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) License to Practice (ECEA, ECE, or Infant/Toddler; Special Needs an asset).
  • Valid First Aid certification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years leading and teaching in a licensed preschool, childcare, or Junior Kindergarten.
  • Leadership and administrative ability in early learning.
  • An active Christian faith, rooted in a Christian worldview, with involvement in a local church community.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Assets: Prior experience in a preschool leadership role, launching new programs, knowledge of BC K–7 Curriculum, and experience managing budgets.

  • Reports to: Head of School
  • Start Date: January 1, 2026
  • FTE: Jan–July 2026: 0.4 FTE (program development and preparation)
    • Aug 2026 onward: 1.0 FTE (full program launch)
  • Salary: $57,000 – $72,000 per year, based on experience and credentials
  • Benefits: Extended health benefits and pension contribution matching
  • Calendar: Aligns with the DCS K–7 school calendar
