Responsibilities
  • The Junior Foreman supports the Foreman.
  • By leading the dock crew to safely unload and load linehaul and city equipment to meet service targets.
  • Leads on safety and compliance to help create safe work culture and compliance to processes.
  • Operates forklift and performs some manual work as required.
  • Performs Quality Task Audits daily and reports on any gaps.
  • Reports daily on any equipment issues (forklifts and hand jacks).
  • Reports daily on any near-miss incidents.
  • Demonstrates leadership and is able to mentor and lead.
  • Must be able to cover Foreman shifts at times with little notice, including vacation days.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the City of Winnipeg and surrounding rural towns—ability to plan a delivery run.
  • Leadership skills to clearly set expectations and assign tasks with safety and service targets in mind.
  • Flexibility with little notice to work a variety of shifts (late evenings, early mornings, weekends).
  • Willing to learn to run the am dock.
  • Ability to train new hires.
  • Forklift certification or experience.
