Siksika Nation has an opportunity for a Junior Draftsperson to join their Engineering Services team to successfully deliver projects. Draftspersons at SNES work in offices and on-site, helping design and update plans for infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and water systems. Their fieldwork involves site visits, surveys, and inspections, often in rural areas and various weather conditions. They collaborate with engineers, project managers, and Siksika leaders to ensure designs meet community needs and sustainability goals. Their challenges include extreme weather, coordination with stakeholders, and compliance with funding requirements, highlighting their vital role in Siksika’s infrastructure development.
The Junior Draftsperson works with the Senior Draftsperson collaborating on engineering designs, detailed drawings, and technical documentation for both residential and commercial construction projects. This position requires an understanding of architectural and engineering principles, as well as experience in CAD software to produce high-quality designs.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely drawings. Collaboration is key in this role, the junior Draftsperson will work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals across multiple disciplines. Maintaining high standards of quality, is essential for success in this position.

Education and Experience:
Technical school certification/degree in drafting, engineering technology, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s Degree or related field preferred. Minimum of Five years of relevant work experience as a design draftsman, preferably in residential, commercial construction, and/or water and wastewater projects.
Professional Designation/Certification/Licenses:
CET, AScT, LEED Certification, ACP, and/or CSWP. Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License required. Five years Driver’s Abstract required.
Remuneration and Benefits
$60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year. Medical and Dental Benefits.
