A transportation authority in Dartmouth is seeking a Junior Civil / Structural Engineer to assist with bridge inspections and project management. The role involves working closely with a team on a variety of projects with a strong emphasis on safety. Ideal candidates should have a relevant degree and experience with engineering duties related to bridges. Competitive salary range from $56,129 to $70,161 offered for this full-time permanent position.
Junior Civil / Structural Engineer at Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) operates and maintains the Angus L. Macdonald and A. Murray MacKay Bridges, facilitating over 34 million crossings annually. HHB is committed to providing safe, efficient and cost-effective cross-harbour transportation. Reporting to the Senior Bridge Engineer, the Junior Civil / Structural Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and collaborate closely with bridge engineers and the Engineering Department Manager at HHB. The successful candidate will work on bridge inspections, investigations, construction supervision, quality assurance, project management and contract administration. The candidate should have experience with reading drawings for concrete and steel structures, and experience with inspection and supervision of rehabilitation works or new construction of bridges or other structures. You will join a team that takes pride in planning, monitoring, completing and closing challenging bridge rehabilitation projects.
Salary range: $56,129 – $70,161. Hiring for 1 position. Full-time Permanent, Non-Union. Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (35 hours per week).
