A leading SaaS company is looking for a Jr. Software Engineer Co-op to join their Viz team in Vancouver. This 8-month co-op offers students hands-on experience in software development, requiring Java development skills and familiarity with AWS services. Students currently enrolled in BCIT, UBC, UVic, or SFU co-op programs will have the chance to learn and contribute to meaningful projects. Qualifications

• Experience with Generative AI services such as AWS Bedrock is a plus.
• Scripting and web application development using Spring framework is desirable.
• Good understanding of database queries and general database knowledge is helpful.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery tooling, Git, GitHub Actions is nice to have.

• Design, develop, and test applications in adherence to standards.

We’re looking for a Jr. Software Engineer Co-op on our Viz team in Vancouver, BC for an 8-month co-op term. In this role, you will work on a variety of development teams across our entire engineering group.

Jr. Software Engineer Co-op’s on the Viz team will be challenged with a wide variety of technologies and responsibilities that will give you valuable skills for your career as a Software Engineer. The Viz team has a large impact on the daily operations from everything from ensuring timely releases, supporting development infrastructure, and ensuring high uptime for our public-facing web services.

What You’ll Do

• Own small product feature development through full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Design, develop, and test applications in accordance with established standards.
• Participate in peer reviews of designs and code.
• Collaborate with the cross functional team in any feature planning, developing, testing, and deploy the feature to customers.
• Perform software testing to ensure the quality and stability of features in development.
• Implement software to work with Generative AI services.
