Job description
Introduction

Wildstone Construction is currently recruiting for an Electrical Team Lead with commercial construction experience. Our electrical team supports our water/wastewater energy and commercial/institutional projects collaborating with our in-house Mech/HVAC division to provide control wiring capabilities. We’re looking for a motivated and highly skilled Journeyperson Electrician confident in their ability to direct and supervise crews to get the job done.

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • Managing Cable Tray & Teck cable installation methods.
  • Switchgear MCC equipment & generator installation methods.
  • PLC & Instrumentation wiring & termination standards.
  • Familiar with cable schedules, control wiring diagrams and PLC IO drawings.
  • Installation of outdoor pad‑mounted switchgear oil‑filled transformers and containerized equipment.
Travel and Working Conditions

You can expect to travel for work to various locations across BC, the Yukon, and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Crews usually work 21/7 rotations and average 10‑hour days with travel in and out of different project sites. Perks include well‑maintained crew housing, flights to and from site from the nearest airport, a living‑out allowance, full benefits and an RSP program.

Compensation

Compensation - $47.00 - $55.00 per hour depending on experience.

Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead electrical crews on project sites.
  • Ensure everything under your scope is built to specifications and is compliant with codes/regulations.
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure all measures meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients and subcontractors.
  • Underground and slab conduit and grounding.
  • Building wiring - typically EMT, Rigid PVC or Teck.
  • Installation of power distribution switchgear, backup generators, transformers, motor control centers, PLC control panels, VFDs, pumps and instrumentation.
  • Motor control wiring process instrument control wiring and HVAC control wiring.
Qualifications
  • FSR Certified Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician with experience on ICI work sites.
  • Able to follow Canadian Electric Code and BC Hydro, Fortis and ATCO electrical standards.
  • High voltage experience an asset.
  • Proficient with Procore and MS Office 365.
  • Hold or are willing to obtain Leadership for Safety Excellence, Workplace Investigation Basics, Fall protection, WHMIS 2015, Elevated Work Platform and Level 1 First Aid.
  • Able to fulfill the physical requirements of the role.
  • Valid driver’s licence. Trailer towing experience an asset.
