Overview

Position: Maintenance/Plumbing Coordinator

Location: 76 Connaught Dr, Jasper, AB, Canada

What will you do in this job?

• Coordinate maintenance and plumbing activities with the Jasper Lodging team and Director of Facilities.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems, water supply, and waste and drainage systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems with a focus on effective, safe outcomes.
• Install, repair, and maintain hotel plumbing fixtures and systems; locate and mark positions for pipe connections, holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
• Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes; join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
• Communicate and perform preventative maintenance at properties; collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other trades on project steps for success.
• Assist with coordination of renovations at properties; document and ensure proper communication through a maintenance portal.
• Ensure, train, and participate in safe work practices.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

• Journeyman/woman certificate in Plumbing with a minimum of 2 years’ plumbing experience.
• A valid driver’s license with clean driving abstract.
• Read and understand blueprints; knowledge of hotel property maintenance.
• Excellent mechanical ability, problem-solving skills, and creative thinking.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; professional appearance and attitude.
• Knowledge of tools and their uses (tools provided).
• Ability to manage large workloads, multitask, and use computers and related programs.
• Understanding of OHS and the Hospitality industry.
