Job summary

Canlan Sports is seeking a proactive Janitor worker to manage cleaning and minor maintenance duties at their sports complex. The ideal candidate will keep the facility and surrounding grounds clean and maintain safety standards, working flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferable experience as a commercial buildings janitor.
• Valid driver’s license an asset.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks.
• Clean outdoor areas including grass cutting and snow removal.
• Assist with minor maintenance and ice maintenance.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a pro-active janitor that is a hands-on individual who will perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. Their primary responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
• Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including:
• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports with respect to:
• Window cleanliness
• Parking lot & property cleaning checklist
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures
• Assist with minor maintenance as required
• Assist in Ice Maintenance during peak periods, short staffing or as required

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset
• Valid driver’s license an asset
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)
• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred)\
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written)
