Job description

Vertex is currently seeking a highly organized and proactive IT Applications Analyst to join our team to provide analysis and support on internal applications across multiple locations. The successful candidate will be a good communicator with excellent customer service skills, be an effective problemsolver, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide application support for Sherwood Park offices and other locations.
  • Develop applications in low-code environments such as PowerApps and other smart forms.
  • Manage and select appropriate software applications according to business requirements to ensure successful outcomes. This includes collaboration with vendors to meet all business objectives.
  • Engage with senior management and assist end-users and stakeholders in resolving issues.
  • Manage and coordinate with departments to develop and provide technical reports, training materials, programs, and documentation for end-users.
  • Administer applications and provide technical expertise in development and execution.
  • Organize regular research studies on new technologies and integrate them into the organization.
  • Assist with system checks and quality assurance.
  • Provide post-implementation support and ongoing maintenance.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, providing second-level support that includes root cause analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Assist coworkers and end-users in troubleshooting and identifying problems.
  • Monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Review, coordinate, and execute updates to implementation or maintenance plans.
  • Follow Change Management Procedures when deploying changes across varying environments.
  • Assist with the planning or implementation of small to complex projects.
  • Provide other IT support duties as required by the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Application Programming or Computer Information Systems (CIS).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, understand issues, and propose professional technical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to document systems, applications, and ideas effectively for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Desired experience with Digital Process Automation, APIs, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems.
  • Ability to perform duties independently, exercise sound judgment, and communicate with all levels of staff and the public.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a team environment with changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • This position will be based out of Sherwood Park, AB with some travel required.
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (in-office)
