Overview

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Ironworker is involved in the installation and erection of steel, often completed at heights. This work may exist indoors or outdoors and may include physically demanding tasks that often require climbing and lifting.

Location: Syncride

Anticipated Start Date: March 2026

Shift: TBD

Travel: Flights provided to site from Edmonton or Calgary

Accommodation: Limited Camp available

Additional: $50.00/day LOCAL premium to Fort McMurray

Responsibilities
  • Fabricates structural steel, ornamental work and pre-cast structures on a variety of projects
  • Studies blueprints, drawing and specifications to determine the lay out of work
  • Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts using simple torque and hand wrenches
  • Attach cables from a crane and direct crane operators with hand signals and or radio
  • Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
  • Know, understand, and operate grinders safely in accordance with safe work practices and procedures
  • Ability to recognize spool hoisting point and utilize proper rigging techniques and signals while working in a fast-paced environment
  • May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be an Alberta registered apprentice or ticketed journeyman (or hold an apprenticeship or journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Previous rigging experience is required
  • CSTS-09, CSO, or BSO
  • OSSA AWP Ticket
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Must be physically able to lift 50lbs
  • Able to work well in a team environment
