Description

The Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for an entry level Investment Analyst to join our Toronto office. This is a hybrid role which requires being in the Toronto office 2 days a week.

Join our dynamic team as an Investment Analyst and work in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. In this role, you’ll work closely with our experienced Investment Consultants, delivering impactful investment services to a diverse client base. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge in employee benefits and investment strategies for union sponsored pension plans. Your focus will be on data analytics, but you can expect some routine client interactions under supervision, and the chance to grow to a more senior role while working with talented colleagues who are passionate about helping each other succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce monthly and quarterly reports on client accounts for senior Investment Consulting staff.
  • Analyze quarterly performance reports to review both individual fund manager results and total fund outcomes.
  • Prepare and update performance reports for client presentations on a quarterly basis.
  • Communicate with investment management firms and fund managers regarding client inquiries, portfolio statistical profiles, and reconciliations as required.
  • Coordinate with third-party performance analysts to verify performance returns.
  • Collect and compile data, create statistical spreadsheets, conduct data analysis, offer input to improve work products.
  • Draft written communication and communicate verbally with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree with academic training in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.) with demonstrated analytical skill.
  • Knowledge of investment products and mutual funds is a plus.
  • Interested in enrolling in and intent to complete relevant professional accreditation (e.g.,Charter Financial Analyst (CFA), Canadian Securities Course CSC , etc. programs).
  • Advanced working proficiency of all levels of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as other software and on-line tools and resources.
  • Proficiency in communication (oral/written) and organization skills.
  • Proficiency interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences.
