Investment Analyst (Permanent)
Invest Nova Scotia is seeking an analytical, results-oriented, and motivated individual for the role of Investment Analyst who will be an integral member of the investment team. If you are a business-minded, intellectually curious person whose knowledge of deep technology and passion for entrepreneurship can help evaluate and support start-ups, we would love to hear from you.
The Investment Analyst supports the investment team in all aspects of identifying and evaluating early-stage technology companies that offer the best potential for commercial success and financial sustainability. Under the direction of the Investment Principal, the Investment Analyst conducts diligence to fully assess the risk and return potential of early-stage deep technology companies while helping to accelerate the growth of investment portfolio companies.
The Investment Analyst is responsible for :
You are excited to explore and understand disruptive technologies and business models. You can easily understand and analyze business, financial, and market data, and present and debate your conclusions based on them. You take a methodical approach when researching aspects of a new business, from product development through to scaling revenue. You budget time and manage deliverables well through regular communication with teammates, community partners, and companies. Your research findings are presented in a concise and organized manner to help inform investment decisions.
You communicate easily with entrepreneurs about their technical innovations and market applications, and you hold client information in strict confidence. You have a genuine desire to help entrepreneurs build great products that solve large problems.
Playing a foundational and collaborative role on this fast-paced and deadline-driven team, you continually seek opportunities to support Invest Nova Scotia's mission and strengthen your competencies.
