We’re on the serch for a Intermediate Technician - Mech on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

This is the first level of skilled work. Under the direction of more experienced technicians or technical/engineering staff, the employee performs a variety of tasks related to established methods and processes, and works from written instructions or general directions on equipment and systems of moderate complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble or modify test models and experimental setups from specific instructions or under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Perform a variety of tasks including installation, repair, testing and maintenance of equipment, subsystems and systems.
  • Participate in testing under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Record results of tests or experiments.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Assist higher level personnel with other tasks.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on equipment.
  • Participate in the preparation of time and cost estimates
  • Research and recommend parts or components for special tests and test fixtures.
  • Participate in the programming and start-up of automated equipment sequences using the software provided.
  • Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our health and safety rules.
  • Perform other related tasks.
Minimum qualifications required
  • College diploma or equivalent diploma in mechanical, aeronautical engineering or related field based on assignment.
  • A combination of other experiences/education that is relevant can be considered.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset (Prepares reports for Ontario head office).
  • Knowledge and experience, based on assignment.
Schedule
  • Training day schedule (Monday to Friday 7:00 to 3:00pm)
  • Week-end shift: Friday to Sunday 7 AM to 6:30 PM
