Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Intermediate Architect / Architectural Technologist with some work-from-home flexibility. The individual will be responsible for the following :

• Close collaboration with other team members to create and develop architectural presentation and working drawings
• Consultant coordination, with an emphasis on maintaining design intent
• Building permit application preparation, ensuring drawings comply with building codes and zoning by-laws
• Managing project deliverables and timelines, including devising progress schedules
• Preparing comprehensive Construction Documents, including technical drawing and detailing
• Providing Contract Administration services during construction, including performing field reviews

Qualifications

In addition to being self-motivated and meticulous in their work, successful candidates will possess the following mandatory skills and qualifications :

• A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or diploma in Architectural Technology
• A minimum of 3 consecutive years of proficient, demonstrable use of Revit software
• 5-7 years of relevant experience gained while working within an architectural practice
• Thorough comprehension of building technology and systems, including experience specifying components and detailing building envelopes for cold climates
• Organizational and technical skills, with an ability to detail and coordinate a comprehensive set of Construction Documents
• A fundamental understanding of the Ontario Building Code and general ability to interpret municipal zoning by-laws
• The ability to lead / manage team members on projects of varying scale throughout all or most project phases
• Confidence interacting with clients, consultants, and vendors, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

The remuneration offered for this position will be in the range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum.
