Position Information

Job Title: Instructional Assistant – Massage Therapy Program

Appointment Type: Casual

Position Dates: January 2026 – April 2026

Hours per week/FTE: up to 20 hours

About the Position

The Massage Therapy program is looking for individuals to fill a casual position for the winter semester. The responsibilities include guiding and correcting students at Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Student Massage Clinic, Community Based Work Experiences, and Open Lab practice. The candidate will assist students in utilizing practical and technically correct methods to deliver massages effectively and safely while ensuring professional conduct at all times. Administrative duties include maintaining equipment, handling money, and other duties to the operation of a massage clinic.

Position Details
  • Provide oversight to students in the student massage clinic and labs.
  • Supervise students in Community based work experience opportunities (off campus).
  • Supervise students in the Lethbridge Polytechnic student massage clinic on weekdays, evenings and Saturdays.
  • Provide guidance and support to students.
  • Complete observation and performance tools and provide constructive feedback.
  • Report students to the program Practicum Coordinator.
  • Supervise financial transactions and cash reconciliations during the clinic.
  • Review electronic client records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with a provincial professional massage therapy association.
  • Minimum of 2 years full time massage therapy experience in a clinical setting.
  • Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and pathology as related to massage.
  • Proficiency with completing client assessments and evaluations.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitative massage techniques.
  • Good understanding of clinic administrative practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Salary AUPE Class Level 7 Step 1 $24.04/hr
