A leading financial institution in Toronto is searching for an Infrastructure Architect/Solutions Architect to provide strategic guidance and ensure alignment of architectural decisions with enterprise goals. This role involves developing architecture frameworks and providing consultation on complex projects. Candidates with over 10 years of relevant experience and expertise in solutions architecture and database management are encouraged to apply. This position is hybrid and contracts are available.
The Infrastructure Architect / Solutions Architect will provide strategic guidance across technology and business teams, ensuring architectural options and decisions align with enterprise goals and total cost of ownership considerations. The architect will lead or support the design, development, and implementation of enterprise architecture strategies, frameworks, and standards while also playing a key consultative role on high-impact and high-risk projects.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and develop architecture frameworks, including strategies, policies, principles, and standards
Develop enterprise or segment-specific technology roadmaps and planning documentation
Review, approve, and guide blueprints, development specifications, and system designs
Analyze business needs and recommend optimal technology solutions
Provide expert consultation on complex initiatives and high-risk projects
Ensure alignment of project activities with architecture and development standards
Lead or participate in project planning, technical risk analysis, and pre/post implementation reviews
Oversee vendor engagement and contribute to contract negotiations as needed
Coach and mentor technical teams, while fostering cross-functional collaboration
Influence product direction, foresee architectural issues, and identify emerging trends
Continuously develop and share domain-specific knowledge across teams
Act as a senior-level contributor with deep expertise in architecture domains (Enterprise, Data, Application, Technology)
10+ years
Proven Solutions Architect and Solution Design experience
CSA Certification
Experience with ServiceNow
Database management expertise
Network experience
CTA Designation
Banking sector experience
