Overview
We are hiring a Maintenance Millwright to join our team in Toronto, ON! The position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and work closely with the Operations team. You will be a critical member of our team, and your work will be imperative to our day-to-day operations and the overall successful growth of the business.
Responsibilities
- Repair/rebuild pumps, mixers, and other material handling equipment
- Perform mechanical repairs to equipment and Facility
- Respond in a timely manner to machine breakdowns to maximize equipment uptime
- Maintain organized and tidy work areas, including clean-up after machine repairs
- Complete prescribed corrective and preventative maintenance as assigned
- Assist with maintenance of parts inventory by monitoring stock levels and making re-order requests
- Assist in maintaining a safe plant environment through prompt response to safety work requests/observation
- Respond in a timely manner to emergency "call in" for facility and equipment repair
- Report any safety concerns/hazards or defects to leadership on site when identified
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education/Licence/Certifications
- Licenced Millwright (Province of Ontario) required
Knowledge & Experience
- Three (3) years' experience working with machinery, in the waste water or waste management industry preferred
- Experience in welding, pipefitting, handling pumps (centrifugal and progressive cavity) required
- Experience reading blueprints

Work Environment
Normal work environment is indoors, in plant/warehouse setting, with exposure to all smells/odors, dirt, high levels of noise, and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

- Position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, hearing protection, safety-toed boots, utility gloves, hard hat, reflective vest, and safety glasses.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination necessary to utilize tools and other equipment necessary to perform job duties
- Auditory and visual acuity to monitor surroundings, equipment sounds, and safety signals (with or without corrective devices).
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, and kneeling required in outdoor and uneven terrain environments.
- Tolerance to work in environments with strong odors, dust, humidity, and varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet), and handle oils, fuels and other necessary liquids/chemicals.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
