Industrial Door Engineer - Essex

Salary: £38000 - £42000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Location: Various sites (travel required)

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Door Engineer to join our clients expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of manual and electrical rolling and folding steel shutters and doors across industrial and commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install manual and electrically operated industrial doors (mechanical and electrical where qualified).
  • Work across construction, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Travel to site locations punctually and professionally.
  • Attend and complete required site inductions.
  • Set up and maintain a safe working area in line with Health & Safety protocols.
  • Accurately read and interpret general arrangement drawings.
  • Safely operate chain hoists, genie lifts, mobile scaffolding towers, and MEWPs.
  • Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments (PoWRA).
  • Test completed installations and ensure full compliance with quality standards.
  • Demonstrate and hand over completed systems to clients, including relevant documentation.
  • Off-hire and manage plant and equipment used on-site.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the Industrial Door Industry (manual and electrical installations).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and site layouts.
  • Full UK Driving Licence – essential.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
Desirable Certifications
  • IPAF, CSCS, PASMA
