About Chord
Commerce isn’t a generic AI problem. It’s deeply contextual: attribution rules, margin constraints, inventory realities, customer nuance, brand guardrails, and decision trade-offs are exactly where most “AI analytics” products break. Chord exists to solve that by giving AI a living operational understanding of how the business actually works — so agents can be trusted to operate, not just analyze.
At the core of Chord is a Context Graph: a system of record not only for commerce data, but for decisions — capturing the rules, outcomes, and precedent that make automation safe and scalable. That foundation powers Copilot today (plain-language questions → trusted reasoning), and compounds into agentic operations tomorrow (insights → recommended actions → execution with human approval).
Backed by top investors and led by experienced operators, Chord is an AI company focused on solving real problems for commerce teams. We’re looking for thoughtful, detail-oriented, and impact-driven people who want to help shape the future of how commerce teams use data and AI.
Our company is proudly remote-first, distributed across North America.
The Opportunity
- We’re looking for an Implementation Engineer to help Chord build the context layer for agentic commerce — the platform that enables AI agents to understand, reason, and safely operate real commerce businesses.
As An Implementation Engineer, You Will
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customer onboarding and production issues, diagnosing and resolving complex implementation challenges.
- Implement, maintain, and enhance the Chord Analytics SDK on customer websites, including validating event capture, fixing bugs, improving performance, and shipping new features.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver customer-facing integrations and prioritize improvements based on customer feedback.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues that arise in production environments, ensuring reliability and data accuracy.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions that improve product quality, scalability, and developer experience.
- Collaborate within cross-functional project and operations teams to execute product plans and achieve company goals.
- Follow and help refine best practices for implementation engineering, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
- Create and maintain clear documentation, tutorials, and implementation guides that improve both internal workflows and customer experience.
- Track and communicate implementation outcomes, technical risks, and progress to relevant stakeholders.
To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of successfully collaborating with customers.
- Strong technical expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience in Node and React/Redux frameworks.
- Deep understanding of GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
- Experience building, publishing, and maintaining SDKs or libraries used in production environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library), and DevOps tooling (Github, CircleCI, Sentry).
- A reputation for being inclusive, thoughtful, curious, and entrepreneurial.
- Bonus Points For:
- Experience working with Ruby on Rails, Solidus, or ecommerce frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud and DevOps platforms (Heroku, AWS Lambda/API Gateway/RDS).
- Observability and monitoring experience (Datadog).
- Expertise with modern front-end frameworks (Next.js, Gatsby).
- Prior experience in ecommerce integrations (Stripe, Braintree, Segment, Contentful, Sanity, etc.).
You’ll Love This Role If You Are
- Customer-first in your technical thinking, designing and building solutions with customer success as the primary goal.
- Deeply hands-on, energized by solving real technical problems and owning outcomes end to end.
- Calm and thoughtful under pressure, able to navigate issues and escalations without panic or blame.
- A strong cross-functional communicator, comfortable aligning Engineering, Product, and Customer teams around shared goals.
- Driven by ownership, taking responsibility for results—not just completing tasks.
- A builder at heart, excited to create processes, tools, and structure where they don’t yet exist.
