Job summary

A healthcare facility in Eastern Ontario is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide high-quality rehabilitation for stroke patients. The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, have clinical expertise in neurological rehabilitation, and possess excellent communication skills. Qualifications

  • Clinical expertise in stroke and/or neurological rehabilitation populations required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Canadian Stroke Best Practices.
  • Experience in both hospital and community service delivery is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care through assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services.
  • Collaborate with community service providers to promote client independence.
  • Act as a consultant for other healthcare professionals concerning stroke education.

Skills

Understanding of the role of regulated and unregulated healthcare professionals
Demonstrated knowledge in neurological rehabilitation
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Proven flexibility and high initiative
Client, family, and caregiver service-oriented
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and practice independently

Education

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
A member in good standing of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
