Job summary

A Scottish healthcare provider is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to handle sample processing and administrative tasks in the Specimen Reception area. The role requires a strong educational background in sciences and experience in a medical laboratory reception. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, from 09:00 to 17:00.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have 3 Highers including Chemistry or Biology.
• SVQ3 in a relevant science subject is necessary.
• Experience in a medical laboratory reception is essential.

Responsibilities

• Process samples through specimen reception and safely dispose of clinical waste.
• Book in specimens on the laboratory Information System using bar-code readers.
• Ensure proper storage and retrieval of samples.
