Qualifications and abilities
- In-depth knowledge of the Kootenays, local labor market, community resources, and marketing strategies.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions, deliver public presentations, and engage diverse audiences.
- Educational background in Community Development, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Social Services, or a related field. A combination of equivalent education, knowledge, and experience is also acceptable. We welcome candidates from diverse professional backgrounds.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software tools.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and adherence to professional codes of conduct; must be willing to submit to a criminal record check.
- Commitment to continuous learning, with a willingness to remain flexible and adapt to evolving program and organizational needs.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to meetings, events, and employer sites within the community.
Duties
Duties
The Imagine Kootenay Project Coordinator will be responsible for the regional expansion of this exciting project. The coordinator will be expected to meet with, develop relationships, and travel regularly throughout the Kootenay region to attract new communities to join the platform. The successful candidate will also work closely with KES’ marketing team to support the expansion of the website and develop new and innovative marketing campaigns for the initiative. The coordinator will be overseen/supported by the Community Economic Development Manager.

Primary duties & responsibilities
Community Engagement/Outreach
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in communities already involved in IK.
- Conduct targeted outreach to communities currently not involved in IK, ultimately using knowledge and resources available to bring them on board.
- Attend strategic public events to promote IK and become positively known within the targeted communities.
- Effective use of virtual tools and travel as needed to reach these goals.
- Work with representatives to compile resources and information about communities, and work with the KES marketing team to ensure information is conveyed effectively on the website.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing team in website development, ensure deadlines are met and work is being effectively carried out.
- Communicate progress and needs to your senior manager in regular check-ins.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Maintain accurate records of partner meetings and outreach, ensuring up-to-date and complete information. Provide requested information for reporting.
- Other duties as required, including going beyond the job description when necessary. This role may be required to work outside of regular office hours on occasion.
