Summary
In collaboration with the Human Resources team in place, the individual will be providing HR support to and engagement with all team members and leaders for the Eastern Provinces. They will work under the direction of the Senior Human Resources Manager to support recruitment, new hire onboarding, employee relations and engagement, learning and development, health and safety, policy development and implementation, rewards and recognition, stakeholder correspondence, separations and offboarding. They will be a conceptual thinker and build trusting relationships. They will be a self-starter and have exceptional communication skills, discretion, and the ability to organize, follow-up, and work with a sense of urgency.
Duties And Core Responsibilities
- With the help of the HR team, acts as the first point of contact for human resources matters.
- Provides support in the full cycle recruitment from intaking the job requisition, posting advertisements, screening applications, conducting interviews, and reference checks.
- Supports the HR team on national initiatives.
- Assists with internal and external inquiries and requests.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, drafts a variety of employment-related correspondence, including employment agreements.
- Works closely with their leader to support employee relations as it relates to all aspects of human resources.
- Facilitates the execution and reporting on human resources initiative and programs using all available software systems and tools, including assisting with translation to French.
- Provides support in the full cycle recruitment from intaking the job requisition, posting advertisements, screening applications, conducting interviews, and reference checks. Supports and delivers onboarding and offboarding activities including new hire orientation and training.
- Supports disability management, and early and safe return to work.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, conducts basic research on laws, regulations, compliance, HR trends and best practices.
- Maintains and updates HRIS, records, reports, and databases ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Participates in or helps with the joint occupational health and safety committee and develops other safety initiatives and administration, including workplace injuries data entry in provincial portals and validates the appropriate courses by role (WHMIS etc).
- Protects the Company by ensuring employment legislation is followed, and the employment relationship is clearly articulated and documented.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Licenses/Certifications)
- High school graduation required
- Post-secondary education in a human resources or business management program completed or in progress
- Provincial HR designation in progress
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a human resources role or related field
- Experience with an ATS or HRIS is an asset
