Job summary

A leading construction materials company in Ontario seeks an experienced Human Resources Coordinator for a 12-month contract. You will support HR operations through daily tasks including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Human Resources or a related field, alongside a strong organizational mindset and excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.

Job Responsibilities:

As a results-driven, self-motivated professional, you will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources team through daily operational and administrative tasks. With a hands-on approach, you will contribute across multiple HR disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, and reporting. Your focus will be on delivering practical solutions, ensuring seamless processes, and consistently enhancing the employee experience while providing best-in‑class stakeholder support.

  • Act as point of contact for all new employees, preparing and processing employee documentation for both pre‑boarding and onboarding paperwork.
  • Manage the off‑boarding cycle for LOAs, Resignations & Terminations as required, acting as point of contact for employee questions.
  • Prepare Employee Change Forms and administer HR approved payroll changes.
  • Provide support as required in the preparation of various HR correspondence, including promotional, compensation, update, and other employee‑related letters.
  • Assist with administering annual HR programs such as succession planning & performance management cycle.
  • Assist with organizing internal and Enterprise training and development sessions for employees, helping to track attendance, feedback, and compliance for office and field staff.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Team with daily operational and administrative tasks including the administration of background checks and creation of Offer Letters.
  • Maintain and manage accurate HR data and excel‑based reports, ensuring consistency and reliability of information.
  • Develop and deliver biweekly and monthly reporting packages summarizing key HR initiatives, metrics, and program outcomes.
  • Participate in and support recruiting related events and cross‑functional HR related projects offsite.
  • Maintain accurate employee e‑records through database and file updating.
  • Suggest and contribute to projects that improve the operations of the Human Resources department.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of various HR projects and assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • University degree or College diploma in business, Human Resources or related field and/or 2+ years of experience within a similar type of role.
  • Excellent competency with MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word)
  • You must have previous experience working with Excel type reporting.
  • Detail orientation, with the ability to handle ambiguous and fluid situations in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to meet managing multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Customer focused, adaptable, with superb ownership skills.
  • Well organized with a proven track‑record of success.
  • Motivated, self‑starter mentality with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Valid G Driver’s license with own transportation.
  • Ability to travel across the Greater GTAA as required.
