Essential Job Functions
  • Client Services: Provides client support on HR matters; consults on wage and hour, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, state and federal leave laws, and employee relations; interprets client contracts and manages billable work, tracks and reports time, identifies supplemental services and opportunities for additional billable work.
  • Acts as the primary contact for clients and their employees to answer questions regarding policy, benefits, and payroll compliance; informs internal and external management of potential problem areas and recommends / implements solutions.
  • Maintains critical relationships with client representatives (employees, management, vendors) to ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • May conduct HR assessments and prepare reports for presentation to the client.
  • Monitors Compliance Department email box and correspondence; responds to inquiries timely, prioritizes issues, escalates sensitive matters, and ensures proper organization and documentation of electronic communication.
  • Develops, prepares, and delivers training content for webinars.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
  • Other projects as assigned; local and some overnight travel may be required.
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent; advanced degree is a plus but not required.
  • 8-10 years of professional HR experience with focus on employment-related compliance knowledge.
  • Experience within the government contracting industry is highly desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; superior verbal / written and presentation skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; coursework / seminar attendance in HR, Payroll, and Benefit compliance and strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations (e.g., COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, PDL, PFL, CFRA, ADA, ACA).
  • HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent) and payroll / benefits certifications (FPC, CPP, CEBS) preferred.
Computer & Equipment Skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; ability to learn HRIS, Benefit and Payroll systems.
Other Skills & Strengths
  • Effective communication within a diverse workforce; strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities; ability to manage multiple email boxes and document correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret benefit designs and translate information to employees and management; capable of employee training activities; collaborative with senior leadership.
  • Detail-oriented, adheres to procedures, and can meet multiple deadlines and client demands.
Reasoning & Mental Abilities
  • Planning and evaluation skills; making sound decisions; forecasting based on data; planning and adjusting work accordingly.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and / or annual bonus based on performance.
