Job summary

A global technical recruitment company based in British Columbia seeks a Night Shift - HSSE Advisor for an 8-month contract. Qualifications

Job Title: Night Shift - HSSE Advisor
Location: Kitimat, BC
Length: 8-Month Contract to Start
Rotation: Night Shift, Monday–Friday

Description

The Night Shift HSE Field Advisor provides on-site health, safety, and environmental support during night operations at a large industrial LNG facility. This role delivers visible safety leadership, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports employees and contractors to execute work safely during periods of reduced supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary HSE contact for all night shift activities.
  • Conduct field inspections, safety observations, and participate in toolbox talks and shift handovers.
  • Enforce compliance with WorkSafeBC, CCOHS, Canada Labour Code Part II, and BC Environmental regulations.
  • Monitor high-risk activities including confined space entry, hot work, lifting, and working at heights.
  • Ensure Permit to Work, LOTO, and process safety requirements are followed.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Support emergency response activities and act as Safety Officer during night shift incidents.
  • Oversee contractor HSSE performance and support onboarding of new workers.
  • Promote fatigue management, wellbeing, and safe night shift work practices.
  • Prepare nightly HSSE reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
  • NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in LNG, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and BC OHS regulations and LNG-related standards.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions during night shift operations.
