The HSE Advisor provides health and safety support to the field operations teams. This support will aid and lead in the ongoing development of a front-line based safety program. This individual will lead the training, auditing and coaching of facility leadership staff regarding the requirements and responsibilities of the safety program.

This role is based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta.

You will work closely with field operations leaders, frontline employees, and cross-functional partners in a collaborative, safety-driven team environment. The role relies on strong relationships, open communication, and shared accountability to continuously strengthen SECURE’s safety culture.

This position is highly field-based, with a minimum of 50% of time spent on site supporting active operations and engaging directly with employees. The work environment is fast-paced and hands-on, requiring adaptability, visibility in the field, and the ability to balance operational demands with safety leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Providing support to the field in following SECURE’s HSEMS
  • Maintaining a high level of in-person field support (50% of time at a minimum)
  • Supporting core systems including iTrak, work permitting/hazard assessment, job hazard assessment, visitor orientations, safety tickets, emergency response plan, facility inspections/communication, safety manual and COR audit
  • Developing and maintaining components of the HSEMS as requested
  • Ensuring communication and consistency are maintained through active engagement in safety meetings, area calls, and general safety communications
  • Collaborate with clients & contractors to align SECURE’s safety program with their requirements, ensuring compliance and meeting mutual expectations
  • Continually progress personal development, specifically maintaining up-to-date safety tickets and related training
  • Providing additional support as required
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years direct experience in industry-related operations
  • A High School Diploma
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safe work practices
  • Practical knowledge and experience in training and coaching staff
  • A broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure
  • Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization as well as with external regulators, vendors, and contractors
  • High proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Assets
  • OHS Certificate, CRSP or NCSO designation (or actively working toward one)
  • Hands-on experience performing operating tasks within facilities
  • Preference will be given to candidates who live and maintain a permanent residence within the area where the operations are primarily located.
