A local heritage museum in Gananoque is seeking a Heritage Experience Guide to enhance visitor experiences and conduct informative tours. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, a positive attitude, and be eager to support various operations of the museum. Responsibilities include welcoming visitors, sharing knowledge about exhibits, assisting with events, and engaging in hands-on projects alongside the museum team. Located in picturesque Gananoque, the Thousand Islands Boat Museum engages visitors with the special traditions and culture found along the Canadian shores of the St. Lawrence River. From adventures on the river in antique boats to dynamic in-water displays, the TIBM brings the river to life by telling stories through boats. Local marine heritage gets showcased in a whole new way in the recently completed Boathouse, where visitors can experience river life through lively exploration.
Heritage Experience Guides are the first faces visitors see when they visit the Thousand Islands Boat Museum. In this role, you will serve as host and guide for members of the community and the public visiting the site. You will also experience and learn all the ‘behind the scenes’ work that goes into developing exhibits, caring for artifacts, running successful events and fundraising. Ideal candidates must have outstanding customer service capabilities, possess a positive attitude, be self-motivated and well accustomed to teamwork.
