Job summary

A regional healthcare authority in Winnipeg is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to assist tradespersons with various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education and two years of experience in trades-related maintenance. This role may require heavy lifting and work in confined spaces. Job description
Position Overview

Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, independently performs a variety of minor tasks and assists tradespersons or other maintenance personnel in their job function.

Experience
  • Two years' experience in assisting with trades-related maintenance work in institutional buildings required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current Manitoba driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Must be able to withstand periods of strenuous activity.
  • Job requires heavy lifting, bending, and working form scaffolds, high level platforms and in confined spaces and enclosures.

Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
