General Description : A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Schedule Hours : Monday-Friday

Responsibilities :

1. Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
2. Strip and wax, steam clean carpets, and clean windows – on request only.
3. Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
4. Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior. Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
5. Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Procedures include damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
6. Assist the supervisor with other tasks as needed.
7. Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.

There will be showers; employees will need to go between two buildings across the street from each other.

1. Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and in designated collection areas for removal.
2. Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as per specifications.
3. Perform high dusting and wall washing.
4. Operate compactors, lift up to 50 lbs, use heavy-duty machines, and change garbage.

Requirements :

1. Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and work cooperatively in a team.
2. Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
3. Must have own transportation.
4. Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance are required.
