A healthcare organization in British Columbia is looking for a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) to support elderly residents at the Rising Sun Long Term Care Centre. The role focuses on providing compassionate care and assisting with daily living activities. The Rising Sun Long Term Care Centre (LTC) is home to 30 Elderly Residents. Nestled 58kms southwest of Calgary in beautiful Diamond Valley, Alberta. The vibrant Oilfields General Hospital offers an excellent rural care giver opportunity in a unique and diverse Alberta Health Services care facility. The Health Care Aide (HCA) in LTC works in a Resident Family Centered Care environment that focuses on meeting the comprehensive and complex care needs of the Residents and their families in a home like setting. The HCA will work diligently to enhance the Residents activities of daily living by providing compassionate Resident centered care. The place of work is in a community designated for Canada Student Loan forgiveness as outlined in https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/education/student-aid/grants-loans/repay/assistance/doctors-nurses/amount.html. You may be eligible for the Rural Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program if you meet other eligibility requirements.
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this position you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities assisting nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs, assisting with organized activities or programs and observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under a regulated health professional you will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.
