A telecommunications company is seeking a Headend Advance System Technician in Hanover, ON, responsible for network access point installation and maintenance. Candidates should have AST certification and knowledge of fiber optics and CATV equipment. This role requires working in the field and may require travel. A valid driver's license is necessary.

This position requires working in the field based out of the Hanover, ON covering major network access points in Hanover, Goderich, Clinton, Markdale and Lions Head areas (3 designated work centers) as well as some travel when required to other areas.

Reporting to the Director of Operations- Ontario, Headend AST is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance and support of Eastlink’s residential customers access points to our networks proving Internet, video and phone over multiple platforms. The candidate will ensure the integrity of the network and the successful delivery of high value services to corporate and residential customers. This will include the installation, maintenance, auditing and modification of equipment and wiring both internal sites and out in the field; offering technical and logistical training and support to co-workers; coordinating contractors/ internal resources for installation cut overs and maintenance work; assisting with upgrades and troubleshooting as needed. Time management and effective launches are critical to Eastlink success in a competitive market.
