Overview

Artemis Gold is a well‑financed, growth‑oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. The Company’s current focus is the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. The first gold and silver pour at Blackwater was achieved in 2025 and commercial production was declared on May 1, 2025. Artemis Gold trades on TSX‑V under the symbol ARTG. Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Processing is responsible for overseeing the effective processing of ore at the Blackwater. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operations while meeting production targets and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards. They will lead strategic planning, operational execution, and team development to optimize gold production, cost, and plant performance.

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

Schedule: Three (3) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership & Compliance:
    • Champion a strong safety culture through visible felt leadership and ensuring compliance with BW Gold’s safety systems and BC mining and environmental legislation.
    • Establish and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety audits and take corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation.
    • Planning, development, and direct oversight of implementation of a world class processing safety culture.
  • Operational Leadership:
    • Develop a world class processing department.
    • Lead daily processing plant operations, including crushing, grinding, CIL circuits, and tailings management to maximize gold recovery and production targets.
    • Oversee metallurgical testing, accounting, and optimization using data analysis for process control and efficiency gains.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as adopting new technologies for ore types processed.
    • Oversee daily processing activities to achieve production targets and maximize throughput and gold recovery while minimizing costs.
    • Direct oversight and management of all departmental key performance indicators.
    • Monitor and evaluate plant performance metrics and resolve challenges timely and effectively.
    • Coordinate closely with Mining, Geology, Maintenance, and Processing teams to ensure feed quality, blending, and throughput targets are consistently met.
    • Implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance safety metrics, and operational challenges.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Work with the management team to establish the direction and the mid to long term strategies for the Processing team taking a multidisciplinary approach to consider the overall objectives of the operation.
    • Identify options and implement actions to adopt best practices for processing.
    • Provide technical input and operational insight to the Phase 2 expansion project, including design considerations for the new processing facility.
    • Participate in cross‑functional planning efforts to ensure operational readiness.
  • Personnel Management:
    • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high performing processing team.
    • Foster a collaborative and accountable work culture focused on continuous improvement and encourages professional development.
    • Support employee development pathways and maintain training records.
  • Maintenance Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the maintenance team to optimize asset health and uptime.
    • Support plant reliability by ensuring that equipment and machinery are properly operated to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Cost & Resource Management:
    • Prepare the processing production budget based on information from the overall mine budget and business plan objectives.
    • Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining operational excellence and a safe working environment.
    • Ensure effective and sustainable use of resources and implement efficiency measures to optimize resource utilization and waste reduction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field required.
  • 15+ years of processing experience, with at least 7 years in senior leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in gold processing, particularly CIL/CIP.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex operations, including leadership through commissioning and ramp‑up phases.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sound technical understanding of metallurgical principles, plant optimization, and process control systems.
  • Excellent safety leadership and risk management capability.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technologies used in processing operations.
