Roles and Responsibilities
- Be a leading ambassador of Cowbell’s values, vision and overall business strategy
- Develop and propose annual strategic goals for production, packaging and lab teams.
- Define and implement production strategies, structures and processes. Create, update and modify SOPs on an ongoing basis
- Facilitate future growth of the brewery through continuous optimization of current processes
- Provide regular performance feedback to SLT
Operations Management
- Develop operational goals and ensure strong interdepartmental relationships
- Create the production schedule to manage demand, ensuring all sales forecast requirements are met.
- Oversee all day-to-day activities required to produce high quality, consistent products
- Lead production and packaging operations to manage demand to ensure all sales forecast requirements are met. Ensure scheduling and staffing levels are maintained.
- Assist in developing long term production needs including procurement of new equipment, building layout changes, maintenance, raw supplier swaps etc.
- Maintain hands on working knowledge of brewhouse and cellar and packaging systems
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise the production, packaging and lab teams. Provide informative and technical beverage related support to all employees across every department
- Manage department time off in a manner that maintains production continually and efficiency
- Ensure a working environment that is safe for all employees and visitors. Implementing procedures, conducting training, addressing and curing safety deficiencies in an ongoing manner
Quality Assurance & Maintenance
- Conduct quality checks and process audits to ensure quality standard is maintained
- Maintain best in class cleanliness in all areas of the production facility
- Ensure proper inventory reporting is maintained at all times, in all areas of production and packaging.
- Organize and engage with outside contractors to minimize downtime
Collaboration & Innovation
- Work in collaboration with the Sales, Marketing and the overall Operations team to drive the innovation process. Actively seek out and implement advances in beverage efficiency and creativity
- Operate and maintain the Pilot System
- Provide the Food & Beverage, Sales, and Marketing teams with onsite, offsite, print and social media support
- Stay connected to the Craft brewing and distilling industry to establish, build and maintain relationships with a focus on innovation, efficiency and brand awareness.
- Participate in all co-pack relationships
Qualifications And Requirements
- 10 years brewing & production experience
- Valid Smart Serve certification
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with professional conduct at all times
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
