  • About the Project: Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a collaboration between Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc., and Arcadis Canada Inc.

Position Overview: This role involves managing the project Geotechnical Consultants to support the Civil and Structural designs for the project. Responsibilities include supervising Geotechnical Site Investigations, sampling, testing, and conducting site trials for ground improvements and construction methods. The role also entails developing geotechnical solutions, specifying instrumentation and monitoring, and providing expert advice to support project design and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in developing work methods and sequences to ensure efficient and safe execution.
  2. Perform calculations and analyses for geotechnical temporary structures, ensuring reliability.
  3. Coordinate with modelers and technicians to develop accurate geotechnical models.
  4. Collaborate with subcontractors and experts to evaluate external geotechnical designs.
  5. Provide technical support to the construction team, ensuring compliance and quality.
  6. Ensure works comply with safety and quality standards through regular checks.
  7. Act as a technical reference for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication.
  8. Contribute to developing and improving specifications, introducing innovative solutions.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in designing and constructing temporary structures.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or eligibility to obtain one in Canada.
  • Experience with seismic design and liquefaction is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with finite element software such as Advance Design.
