Flammability Analyst 1
Job Description
The Flammability Analyst supports certification of aircraft interior components designed and manufactured on site and at other divisions. In addition, a Flammability Analyst supports the engineering design during all phases of product development.
Summary of Duties
- Reviews all relevant technical specifications for the project including delivery matrices, customer finish specifications and general arrangement engineering drawings.
- Participates in design reviews via supporting the design team in all in‑house and customer design reviews, being familiar with the proposed interior units and finishes, identifying and addressing potential problematic material combinations, and proposing methods of showing compliance during the review.
- Prepares flammability substantiation documents, such as flammability test plans and test reports, to show compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and is responsible for preparing all documents related to the flammability substantiation of an assigned unit.
- Conducts peer reviews of test plans and reports for quality and accuracy.
- Coordinates assigned projects with mechanical design, program managers and production managers.
- Maintains a general understanding of the testing protocol used in the flammability lab for certification of the products referenced within the assigned test plan and/or report.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in mechanical, chemical or material engineering preferred or equivalent training. Familiarity with 14 CFR 25.853/25.855 regulations, Policy statement PS-ANM-25.853-01-R2 is an asset.
- Experience: Minimum 1‑5 years of related experience.
- Computer Skills: Windows Operating System, Office, AutoCAD Lite, Catia and Smarteam.
- Other Skills: Detailed oriented, accurate, 10‑key by touch a plus. Knowledge of aircraft certification flammability requirements, analysis techniques, testing methods and documentation procedures is strongly desired.
- Languages: Ability to communicate in French and English.
