Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) required.
  • Must have valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Q endorsement driver's license.
  • Minimum standard of physical fitness is required for this role.

Are you an energetic Paramedic/Firefighter who enjoys working in a challenging environment providing fire, medical and technical rescue response? As a member of Canadian Natural’s Fire Department, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our oil sands site through emergency response, community education and continuous training. As your career with Canadian Natural progresses, you will have the opportunity to build your skillset and qualifications through further learning and development opportunities.

  • Job location: Horizon or Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide BLS/ALS medical response
  • Ensure effective emergency response by providing professional application of skills and techniques at the emergency scene
  • Assist in maintaining and inspecting fire apparatus and equipment
  • Perform fire code inspections of site facility infrastructure and site pre-fire planning
  • Demonstrate leadership and training attributes to emergency response team members
  • Provide input into the effectiveness of the emergency response team
What You Bring to the Role:
  • Must have previous experience as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and be registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics
  • Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification (Preference will be given to candidates with firefighter experience)
  • Valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Q endorsement driver’s license
  • Minimum standard of physical fitness is required for this role
