Qualifications

Are you an energetic Paramedic/Firefighter who enjoys working in a challenging environment providing fire, medical and technical rescue response? As a member of Canadian Natural’s Fire Department, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our oil sands site through emergency response, community education and continuous training. • Job location: Horizon or Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
• Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shifts
• Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide BLS/ALS medical response
• Ensure effective emergency response by providing professional application of skills and techniques at the emergency scene
• Assist in maintaining and inspecting fire apparatus and equipment
• Perform fire code inspections of site facility infrastructure and site pre-fire planning
• Demonstrate leadership and training attributes to emergency response team members
• Provide input into the effectiveness of the emergency response team

What You Bring to the Role:

• Must have previous experience as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and be registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics
• Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification (Preference will be given to candidates with firefighter experience)
• Valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Q endorsement driver’s license
• Minimum standard of physical fitness is required for this role
