To ensure our purpose remains central, we have rebranded as Financial Planners within the Scotia Financial Planning team (formerly "Investment Specialist" in the Mobile Advice Team) of our Global Asset Management Division.

As a Financial Planner, your focus will be on developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service to the mass affluent market. You will leverage your external networks and centers of influence, understanding that growing a practice involves building long-term relationships. Your clients are your greatest asset, and your priority is to help them meet their unique financial goals through investment and financial planning advice.

You will enjoy the flexibility to meet clients outside of the office at times that suit both parties. You will work within a collective Scotiabank framework that benefits both your clients and your practice.

Following a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will be responsible for driving investment sales and new client acquisition, adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will :

Promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in your market by :

  • Business Development: Executing plans for prospects and existing clients, identifying new opportunities, and facilitating investment solutions or referrals.
  • Client-Centric: Providing tailored investment solutions through a financial planning framework, conducting outbound communications, needs analyses, and proactive outreach to prospects.
  • Community Involvement: Participating in local events, delivering community sessions, and building your market profile through networking and marketing activities.

We look for candidates with:

  • At least 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • MFDA certification in good standing (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • Personal Financial Planning (PFP) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • Strong networking, client acquisition, and interpersonal skills, with experience in Centers of Influence (COIs).
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for client meetings in your district.
